A Disney Twist

Inspired by Disney Pixar’s beloved film, Up!, this gingerbread house passes our awesomeness test with flying colors. From the jelly bean balloons to the M&M walkway, the real decadence is in the details with this one. Not to mention they were able to actually lift the house off its platform.

A Colorful Christmas

Usually when you think of gingerbread houses you think of a cute little cottage with powdered sugar snow on the roof and gumdrops scattered about. Well, this house is the complete opposite, and we love it! This super cool, incredibly detailed gingerbread house puts a South Florida spin on a classic holiday tradition. It’s got bright colors, a yard made of green sprinkles, and an inground pool in the backyard, complete with a diving board. Anybody else want to go to Florida this winter?

Christmas Lights

Gingerbread house meets Jack-O-Lantern? The lighting is what really makes this house pop. It looks like a beautiful, snow-covered home having a holly, jolly Christmas. It also serves as a reminder to make it look like you’re home if you’re planning on going on vacation this holiday season.

We’ve seen a Floridian spin on the gingerbread house, but how about an East Asian one? The pagoda is one of the coolest architectural designs around, and to see it executed in gingerbread form adds an unconventional, creative flair that scores well with our judges (me). Looking at this amazing piece of edible art makes you want to travel to see the real thing.

The “Dream House”

This awesome cookie creation looks like a house straight out of a Dr. Seuss book. The winner of the 2016 National Gingerbread Competition in Asheville, NC, the dazzling Swiss chalet style architecture and stunning white icing details make this house a true masterpiece. It’s something you’d actually want to live in, nevermind the eating part.

Larger Than Life

I mean, what more is there to say? A life-sized gingerbread house takes the cake. Checking in at 22 feet tall and 23 feet wide with beautiful Victorian architecture, there’s not much you can do to beat this one. The house is made of nearly two tons of candy, with 3,000 lbs. of that being made up of gingerbread bricks held together by icing. Yeah, it’s that serious. Better luck next year, guys.
